Our Weekend

May 2nd, 2010

So Friday was a massive day for Xander - he photographed the first of five shoots for his final project and exhibition. The day started off quite stressful, to say the least, but thanks to a lot of prayers from a lot of friends, all the right things came together at the same time i.e. his fixed camera arriving at 3pm and the make-up artist arriving at 3:05pm. Phew!

The photo shoots, scenes and themes will be something Xander will tell you all about (accompanied by his amazing pictures of course)... but this will be after his exhibition opening night for obvious reasons! So keep an eye out for that because trust me, it's a good one.

My friend Alison and I were the first two to be used in Xander's project, so we got to be make-up'd and styled, so of course on Friday evening after it all, we wanted some nice casual photos of ourselves. So hey presto, up above is the fun we had in some gorgeous evening sunlight. And we've even discovered a backup assistant if we ever need one - check out Alison's skilled photographs of Xander and I, I love them!

Hope you've had a great weekend, oh and happy Bank Holiday for Monday!

Yamika & Alison

As the sun was shining in Ballymena, we thought we'd gather together two of our biggest fans, (haha) Alison and Yamika, to head up the coast with us for some fun in the sun. But alas, the further we drove, the cloudier it became... goodbye any chance of lens flare and warm tones!

Never fear, we really wanted to scout out a few locations so it was great to just drive and then shout out when we spotted somewhere worth using. I don't think we'll count on this spontaneity in future, but it worked just fine this time round.

Today Xander received an early birthday present in the post, what else could it have been but a shiny new Canon 5D mark II camera with the 24-70 f2.8 lens. Seriously, this is the leader of all lens gangs. He was oh so happy to finally get one, and so of course we went out to test it out this sunny evening. Click below to see some photos of our faces taken with this lovely piece of kit.
